Guitars
As a painter I am drawn to process and materials. As a musician I enjoy playing finger style guitar. And as a woodworker, well, anything to do with wood. I’ve had an interest in resonator guitars since the 1970’s and decided to try and create one myself in about 2003. I utilize repurposed materials relying on discarded or broken guitars and found parts as much as possible. I use old aluminum cookware for the cones as well as thin sheets of brass and when needed off the shelf hardware from the local Ace store.
They sound like old recordings from the 20’s and 30’s. Something you might hear from a Son House, Tampa Red, or a Bayless Rose recording of that time.
